TRI-TOWNS CELEBRATES 36th ANNIVERSARY

On Saturday January 15th 2011 members from Tri Towns EMS and Potomac Fire Company held a a party for the Ravens and Steelers fans at Station 22. After a long and intense game the Steelers won with a final score of 31 to 24. A good time was had by all in attendance. TRI-TOWNS CELEBRATES 36th ANNIVERSARY

On Saturday January 8th 2011 members and officers of Tri-Towns EMS celebrated their 36th annual anniversary with a dinner and dance held at the American Legion. A social hour kicked off the festivities at 5 pm. Several members of mutual aid departments were in attendance. Dinner was prepared by Bob Ritchie, Lonaconing. An Awards Banquet followed shortly after. Francis Mowbray, Past Chief was the guest speaker. Mr. Mowbray did a power point presentation of the past and present of TTEMS. President Bobby Pattison, Chief Eric Mowbray and Banquet Coordinator April Woolard presented several members with awards for thier continued dedication to the department throughout the year. EMT of The Year went to Carey Williams and Richie Wildesen. Driver of the Year was presented to James Mayhew and Joe Bittinger. Top Hours went to James Mayhew, Carey Williams, Joe Bittinger, Amber Clay, Tim Connor, Matthew Woolard, Eric Mowbray, Onie Sweitzer, Lynn Sweitzer and Jason Wiltison. Recognized for 15 years of service goes to Rhonda Clark, 10 years Nikki Braithwaite and Justin Bean, 5 years Danny Braithwaite. Chief Mowbray gave each of his officers a Chief’s award for their hard work. President Pattison presented Sam Metz a plague for his hardwork throughout the year. Thomas Morgan, Chaplian, provided the Benediction. Following the Awards Banquet, members danced into the night by music provided by Steven Shipley.

TRI-TOWNS EMS CONGRATULATES THIER NEWEST EMT

The Tri-Towns EMS would to extend thier congratulations to Jessica Brandt, Jessica volunteers at the Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department in Mineral County, WV as a Firefighter-EMT, Jessica is employed at Mineral County's 911 center as a Dispatcher and recently joined Tri Towns EMS she is Tri-Towns newest Maryland EMT. Congratulations Jessica Job Well Done !!!


TRI-TOWNS EMS CHRISTMAS PARADE

On Thursday December 2, 2010 Tri-Towns EMS attended the yearly Christmas parade, This parade brought together lots of different fire and EMS companies as well as school bands from the area to enjoy this years parade. The parade had a very good turn out one of the better turn outs in a few years of its existance.

After the Christmas parade on the evening of Thursday December 2, 2010 crews from Keyser EMS joined the members of the 50 house for some pizza and time to relax. everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time.

TRI-TOWNS EMS AND NEW CREEK FIRE COMPANY BOWLING NIGHT !!

On Saturday November 27 2010 Tri-Towns EMS and the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department came together with each other to have a fun night of bowling at the rainbow lanes in Keyser, WV. Both companies had a great turn out of members through out the night as well as a few other members from a couple of other departments showing up to join the night of bowling. Everyone that attended this event is looking forward to getting together again in the future of having another bowling night or some other event together. Both departments did not have to run a call during this event so everyone got to enjoy the whole night without having to leave to respond to a call.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MT.RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM.

On Saturday November 20th 2010 Ambulance 351 took part in the Escort parade for the Mountain Ridge High School Boys Soccer Team that traveled to Baltimore and won the state championship. The Escort parade took place just outside of Cumberland City where it went through several different locals and ended at Mountain Ridge High School.
All companies taken part in the Escort was: Tri-Towns EMS, Potomac Fire Company, Barton Fire Company, Lonaconing Fire Company, Midland Fire Company, Clarysville Fire Company, Frostburg Fire Company, Frostburg EMS, Mount Savage Fire Company, Corriganville Fire Company, Ellerslie Fire Company, Lavale Fire Company, Maryland State Police, Cumberland City Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff Department, BOP, Frostburg City Police Department


Halloween At Tri Towns EMS

On Saturday October 30, 2010 the Halloween parade and trick or treating took place in the Tri-Towns area. In the afternoon hours of October 30th Tri-Towns EMS, Potomac Fire Company, Tri-Towns Fire Company and the Piedmont Police Department all took part in the yearly Halloween parade. The parade started in the Westernport area and ended in Piedmont, members of Tri-Towns EMS picked the winners in the parade. Later in the evening Ambulance 350 was placed in the Bloomington area with the Bloomington Fire Company to hand candy out and to stand-by in case of an emergency in that area. At the same time Ambulance 351 and 352 were placed in the Piedmont area to cover thier areas as well. While handing candy out in the Piedmont area Ambulance 351 had a situation that happened with a 5 year old boy who fell hitting his head, the crew from the ambulance checked the child out and obtained one signed refusal due to the parents not wanting them to go by ambulance. Also during this event Station 50 was toned for a medic assist to the Elk Garden area for a fall from the roof but due to not having any medics around during this time Station 50 was unable to respond to assist station 4. On the following night October 31, 2010 Ambulance 350 and 351 assisted the Barton Fire Company in Barton, Md with handing candy out to the kids that were trick or treating. All members that were able to take time out of there day this year to help out with these events over this past weekend we thank you very much for your time and help with it all. Tri Towns EMS attends Open House
Sun. Oct 10th 2010

On Sunday October 10, 2010 Tri-Towns EMS was invited to attend the Potomac Fire Department (Station 22) Open House from 1-4pm along with the Barton Hose Company (Station 19), Tri-Towns Fire Department (Station 24), and the Keyser Fire Department (Station 33). Also present was the Allegany Garrett County Fire and Rescue Association's Junior Miss Fire Prevention. Both Fire and EMS units were on display during the day. Tri-Towns EMS set up a table to check blood pressure which, was manned by Chief Eric Mowbray, Deputy Chief Carey Williams, and EMT Richie Wildesen. Members of Station 22 had several presentations including a K-9 presentation by the Allegany County Bureau of Police and a live fire presentation. Information was available to the public, as well as raffles and items for children.

Tri Towns EMS visits Oakland

On October 7, 2010 Tri-Towns EMS once again attended the Autumn Glory Parade in Oakland, Maryland with Ambulance 351 and Response 357. Ambulance 351 took Best Appearing Ambulance at this event. Tri-Towns EMS is looking forward to attending this parade again next year.

Tri Towns EMS Host's Demo
Weds. Sep 22nd 2010

On Wednesday September 22, 2010 a representative from Zoll held a demo of their Auto Pulse unit at the station. Several members were present. After a brief description and presentation of the device, members were able to have hands on training. Tri-Towns EMS will be demo-ing the unit in hopes of purchasing one. The unit is secured in our Special Response Unit 357.

Tri Towns EMS Attends Drill in Garrett County

On September 18, 2010 Tri-Towns EMS attended a Trauma Drill at Station 36 in Garrett County. Those attending were Carey Williams, Onie Sweitzer, Lynn Sweitzer, Christie Feaster, Kippy Feaster, Christin Feaster, TJ Serpone, Justin White, Josh Clark, Jason Wiltison, Tim Connor, Richie Wildesen and Scott Windle. After doing many scenarios and refreshing skills units cleared and returned to the station.

Tri Towns EMS Visits Mount Savage

On Monday September 6, 2010 the Tri-Towns EMS attended the Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Department's Labor Day parade, Bringing home Best Appearing Ambulance. Tri Towns EMS would like to thank the Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Department for inviting us to thier parade and we are looking forward to attending it next year.






Tri Towns EMS Provides Stand-by For Westernport Gaints
Sat. Aug 28th 2010

On Saturday August 28, 2010 Tri-Towns EMS stood by and took part in the first Westernport Gaints Home football game this morning at 0930 hours. While on stand-by at the football game TTEMS had three incidents take place. first was a medical emergency on Hammond Street in Westernport. Ambulance 350 cleared the stand-by to handle the call. second was a two year old locked in a van which members of the department assisted the family with getting the door unlocked and checking the two year old making sure that he was okay. Third was a Westernport Gaints football player who was injuried on the field and treated for a shoulder injury, TTEMS obtained a patient refusal due to family members taking the patient to hospital by POV. Ambulance 351 and Response 357 handled the two calls at the football field. Tri Towns EMS will being standing by for all Gaints home football games this year in Westernport.

Tri Towns EMS Participates in Trooper Training

On July 18th 2010 the Tri Towns EMS along with the Bloomington (Company 36), Barton (Company 19), Tri Towns Fire (Company 24), and the Elk Garden(Company 140) Volunteer Fire Departments held a training drill with Trooper five and its new protocols. The training was held at the Bloomington School.

Today we operate out of a much newer and larger station located 1 mile east of the old Station on Route 50
